blankSNOW ART: 2003 Snow Sculptures

bar

What do you get from a 10-foot-tall cylinder of snow?

Fifteen teams of carvers from across the US demonstrated their skills at revealing the art hidden within the snow at the annual National Snow Sculpting Championships, held Feb. 8 in Lake Geneva, Wis. Following are some of the amazing results. Because of the warmer weather conditions this year (it was near 50 degrees F that Saturday), most of the carvers worked all night and up to the last minute. The carvers vote on the finished carvings, choosing first through third place winners based on complexity, design, etc.
